Janet M. Thomas, 69, of Mendota died April 24, 2011, in her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. She was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Mendota to Earl and Myrtle Mae (Hampton) Manning. She married Eugene Thomas on April 23, 1960, in Mendota. She worked at Wayside Press, Conco Inc., Beitch Greenhouse, Del Monte and Fantasy Flavors before her retirement. She participated in many bowling leagues. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Robert, Terry and Michael Thomas, all of Mendota; two daughters, Cheryl Rubottom and Diane (Orville) Henry, both of Mendota; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Earl "Sonny" Manning of Arizona, Jerry (Jane) Manning and Rick (Mary) Manning, both of Mendota. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Huberta Hibbetts; one brother, Wayne Manning; and one grandson Levi Davis. Memorials may be directed to the family.
