Janice Mae Didlinger, 67, of Compton died Nov. 7, 2011, in her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Compton, with the Rev. Jamie Wallace officiating. Burial at the church cemetery will be at a later date. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born July 7, 1945, in Elgin to John and Mildred (Sjeurset) Olson. She married John Lee Didlinger on April 10, 1965, in Elgin. She and her husband moved to Compton from Plainfield in 1999. She was a graduate of Barrington High School and had attended Joliet Junior College and Illinois Valley Community College. She was an administrative assistant at Mendota Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband; one son, John Carl (Julie) Didlinger of Oregon; two grandchildren, Jaime and Jillian Woolsey; four greatgrandchildren, Madalyn, Molly, Ian and Juliana; and one sister, Carol (Don) Imhoff of Crystal Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack and Darrel. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Community Hospital.
