Jason M. Rapp, 28, of 1708 Augustine Ave., Mendota died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota. The Rev. James Kruse will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mr. Rapp was born March 7, 1979, in Mendota to Anthony and Margaret (Burkardt) Rapp. He married Crystal Smith on Aug. 30, 2002, in Ottawa. He graduated from Holy Cross School and Mendota High School. He worked at Caterpillar in Montgomery. He was a member of Holy Cross Church. Survivors are his wife; one son, Ethan, and one daughter, Eva, both of Mendota; his parents of Mendota; paternal grandmother Sarah (Francis) Rapp of Mendota; maternal grandparents Charles and Lola Burkardt of Compton; one brother, Josh Rapp of Mendota; aunts,uncles,nieces and nephews. Mr. Rapp was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Rapp; and one uncle. Memorials may be directed to a trust fund established for his children at First State Bank.
