Jean Riegel, 88, of Mendota died at July 7, 2008, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Tedeum Chapel, Mendota. The Rev. Dale Peterson will officiate. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church lounge. Arrangements are by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mrs. Riegel was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Mendota to William and Alba (DeShazo) Krenz. She married Charles Riegel on Sept. 19, 1937, in Mendota. She worked at Westclox, CTS Knights in Sandwich and Jean's Tots to Teens in Mendota. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Survivors are two daughters, Sandra (Kenneth) Swanlund of LaMoille and Nancy Lane of Sandwich; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, one brother and one sister. Memorials may be made to Mendota Lutheran Home.
