Joan Marie McGregor, 64, of Greeley, CO. died January 28, 2013 at Hospice of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. Joan was born on July 10, 1948 in Elmhurst, Il. to Herbert and Joyce (Edwards) McGregor. She was a graduate of Judson College, Elgin, Illinois and taught elementary school at the Crystal Cathedral Church in Garden Grove, California. She had an enduring love for horses and later in life fulfilled a lifelong dream to work as a wrangler at a ranch in Craig, Colorado. Joan was a devoted Christian whose faith sustained her throughout her life. She was a kind and loving woman with a generous heart. Survivors include her brothers Roger (Jan) of Longmont, CO. and Craig (Judy) of Oswego, IL; two nieces, Corey Woods, Aurora, IL and Maureen McGregor, Seattle, WA; nephews, Matthew McGregor, Denver, CO, Ryan McGregor, Yorkville, IL, and Kevin McGregor, Crowley, CO ; and one great niece Alexandra Woods. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Herb and Joyce McGregor and one niece, Krista McGregor. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 9th at 11:00a.m., at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, Il. with the Rev. Phil Sheets officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Restland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Naperville Area Humane Society at 1620 W. Diehl Road, Naperville IL.
