JoAnn Kay Fitzgerald, 78, of Mendota went peacefully home to be with her Lord Jesus at 7:29 pm March 11th, 2019.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 12:00 p.m., at Victory Baptist Church, Mendota with Rev. Steven Breedlove officiating. Burial will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
JoAnn was born on a farm outside of Blue Earth, Minnesota on April 22nd, 1940 to Lloyd and Marian (Boettcher) Neuhalfen. She lived in Blue Earth, Lanark, Illinois and then Mendota, where she graduated from High School there. She then attended Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis,Minnesota and graduated in March, 1959. JoAnn was a wonderful stay at home mom while her girls were young and then worked at Badge-A-Minit in Oglesby. JoAnn married David Fitzgerald on May 26th, 1993 and they celebrated 25 joyous years together in May of 2018.
JoAnn was a wonderful, kind, loving and caring wife and mother always putting her family ahead of herself. She attended Victory Baptist Church and is a faithful follower of the Lord. She loves Jesus with all her heart.
JoAnn is survived by her husband Dave; one brother Larry (Carol) Neuhalfen; one sister Ginger Neuhalfen and three daughters, Shelly Bell, Joni (Brian) Zinke, Julie (Brian) McConville; one son Toby (Jackie) Fitzgerald all of Mendots and eight grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be directed to Abigail Women's Center and St. Jude's.
