John T. Babcock, 53, of 205 Sandra Ave., No. K-1, Mendota died May 12, 2009, in his residence. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sublette, with the Rev. Richard Schaill officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mr. Babcock was born Dec. 17, 1955, in Amboy to Carl and Daphne (Newman) Babcock. He was a member of Mendota Sportsman's Club and had been employed at Motor Wheel. He is survived by two daughters, Jamie Babcock of Mendota and Candice Babcock of Ohio, Ill.; five grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Babcock of Macomb, Ron Zarecor of Rock Falls, Joe Zarecor of Rock Falls and Tony Full of Princeton; and five sisters, Mary Esty of Florida, Cheryl Luy of Loves Park, Cathy Full of Dixon, Kathleen Battle of Joliet and Cindy Schafer of Compton. He was preceded in death by his mother. Memorials may be directed to the family.
