John Madeley peacefully passed away on April 27, 2016 at Heritage Health in Mendota. As per John's wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service.
John was born on October 13, 1939 in Detroit, MI to Cyril and Ganelle (Hardinger) Madeley. His love of all things mechanical led to a career that began in factory maintenance and ended as the general manager of a magnesium die casting plant operating 24 hours a day and employing over 300 workers.
He approached his hobbies with the same level of determination and ambition that guided his career. His most recent passion was setting the land speed record for gas-powered automobiles. He had made steady progress toward this goal over the years and was well positioned to set the record this coming Fall at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
He is survived by his two sisters, Janet Tamer and Susan Patton, his two children, Tim Madeley and Patricia Cohen, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
