John (Huntz) Edward Regenhardt, 82 of LaMoille, passed away October 12, 2014 at Heritage Health, Mendota. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille with military rites by Mendota VFW Council 4079. He was born on January 18, 1932 in Sandwich, IL to William and Christine (Stommel) Regenhardt. He married Marlene Kolp on May 26, 1956. He was a member of the Mendota Elks Lodge #1212, the Mendota VFW Post #4079, the LaMoille Lions Club and the Community United Methodist Church of LaMoille. He worked at Conco Tellus, Mendota for 35 years. John was a Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with his family and many friends. He is survived by two nieces; Karen (Don) Ruppert and Linda (Ken) Troyan, Cousin Cheryl (Chick) Becker, and God Daughter Catherine (John) McDowell. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2001, one brother Donald, and one sister Mary Roberts.
