John C. Ritzheimer, 68, of 46 N. 46th Road, Mendota died Feb. 4, 2008, in his home. There will be no services. Burial will be private. A time of remembrance will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday at his daughter?s home, 26769 2650 East St., LaMoille. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, provided the arrangements. Mr. Ritzheimer was born Dec. 15, 1939, in Galesburg, to John W. and Patricia (Sullivan) Ritzheimer. He married Diane Gustafson on July 2, 1960, in Galesburg. He worked as a general foreman and mechanic for CB&Q and Burlington Northern railroads from 1960-1995 and for Illinois Railnet from 1995-2001. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Susan (Brian) Indigo of LaMoille, one son, Robert (Jean) Ritzheimer of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and one aunt. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to the family.
