Obituary

Joseph K. McGrath, 82, of Woodhaven Lakes, Sublette died Aug. 30, 2008, in Mendota Community Hopsital. Services will be at noon Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Edward Hughes officiating. Private burial will be at a later date following cremation rites. Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. McGrath was born March 24, 1926, in Cicero to Joseph J. and Rose V. (Bares) McGrath. He married Marie Kraft on May 18, 1957, in Riverside. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1944 and served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for automobile maker Fisher Body, a division of General Motors, as a line foreman and production scheduler for 26 years. He was a member of Riverside VFW. He is survived by his wife; two sons, John (Debbie) McGrath of Wilmington and Dave (Darlene) McGrath of Elkton, Md.; one daughter, Rose (Steve) Page of Romeoville; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gen Morton of Mesa, Ariz. He was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society.
