Joseph M. Morris,
82, of Mendota died
Oct. 24, 2013, in his
home.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Monday in Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota with the Rev.
Michael Morrell officiating.
Private burial will be at a later
date.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m.
Sunday in the funeral home.
He was born June 28, 1931,
in Madison, Mo., to Everett R.
and Lillian (Hendren) Morris.
He married Shirley Saylor on
Aug. 6, 1955, in Arlington.
He served with the U.S.
Marines during the Korean
conflict. He worked at
Mendota Rendering Works
for nearly 40 years.
He was a member of First
United Methodist Church and
Mendota Moose Lodge. He
was a loving husband, father
and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife,
Shirley of Mendota; two
sons, Eric Morris and Randy
Morris, both of Mendota; three
grandchildren, Patti, Steven
and Ryan; four great-grandchildren;
and three brothers,
Everett Lee (Sue) Morris of
Florida, Robert (Judy) Morris
of Arizona and Carl (Karen)
Morris of Missouri.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, two brothers
and two sisters.
