Joyce D. Gambler, 68, of Mendota died Jan. 20, 2014, in St.
Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford.
There will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa at a
later date.
Visitation is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at Merritt Funeral Home,
Mendota.
She was born March 19, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to
Robert and Alberta (Fritz) Flewelling. She married Rich Gambler
in 1980 in Mendota.
She worked at Motor Wheel for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Rich of Mendota; one son,
Kenneth Swope; one daughter, Roberta Eisert; three step-daughters,
Melinda Melvin, Michelle Gambler, Heather Price; numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, William
McCauly; two sisters Sandie (Paul) Kuhl and Norma (William)
Sharp; nieces, nephews and a caregiver for eight years, Suzanne
Bradish.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Flewelling;
her mother, Alberta Traw; and two brothers.
