Joyce E. (Brown) Hoffman, 86, of LaMoille, passed away on January 1, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford after a brief illness.

Private family graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Restland Cemetery, Mendota with Rev. David Jungnickel officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.

Joyce was born on January 15, 1934 in Mendota to Elmer and Marian (Deaner) Brown. She was a 1953 graduate of Mendota High School. Joyce married Lee Hoffman on February 14, 1954 in Mendota. They resided on the family farm near Perkins Grove.

Joyce was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she participated in numerous church organizations. She was a 4-H leader for many years with the Clarion Comets. Joyce enjoyed playing cards with the West End Card Club and was active with the Quilters Guild at the Mendota Baptist Church.

Joyce's greatest joys were her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them at motocross, dance and sporting events. She loved farm life, making numerous lunches during baling and harvesting. She was active with all 3 children throughout school and at 4-H events and horse shows. Joyce had a passion for a good game of dice, dominoes or cards and enjoyed many raucous games of Euchre.

Joyce is survived by three children; Jeffrey (Becky) Hoffman of Gilbert, Arizona, Laurie (Dick) Joerger of LaMoille, Sherry (Dave) Siragusa of Dunlap; five grandchildren; Kelly (Mike) Kessel, Monica Joerger, Keegan, Dylan and Joey Siragusa; two sisters Barbara O'Leary and Betty Phalen, brother James (Judy) Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1999, her grandson, Nick Hoffman, her brother, Bill Brown, her sister-in-law, Karen (Doenier) Brown and  brothers-in-law, Jim O'Leary and Harry Phalen.
