Kathleen M. Capello, 65, of LaMoille died March 28, 2010 at the Mendota Lutheran Home. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on March 31 at St. Patrick's Church, Arlington. Her body was donated to the Department of Biological Science at Northern Illinois University. Arrangements were handled by the Merritt Funeral Home. Mrs. Capello was born June 9, 1944 in Mendota to Henry and Lilley (Turpin) Meyer. She married Edward Capello on March 18, 1961. Survivors include her husband of LaMoille; two sons, John (Claudia) Capello of St. Paul, Minn. and Scott Capello of LaMoille; 11 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three brothers, J. Chauncey Meyer of Tucson, Ariz., Martin Meyer of Mancelona, Mich. and Joseph Meyer of Peoria; four sisters, Bonnie Clayborne of LaMoille, Maureen DeLong of LaMoille, Teresa Meyer of Carbondale and Michelle Faivre of LaMoille; her mother of LaMoille; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Capello attended LaMoille High School and received an Associate degree in nursing from Illinois Valley Community College. She earned a Bachelor of Science in 1992 and a Master of Science in 1999, both from St. Francis Hospital in Joliet. She was employed as a registered nurse at several Illinois Valley hospitals, KSB Hospital in Dixon and later at hospitals in Yuma and Phoenix, Ariz. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
