Kathy Devitt, 45, of Mendota died April 23, 2011. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Nov. 18, 1965, in Mendota to John and Betty (Pohl) Fassig. She married Cash Devitt on May 25, 1989, in Reno, Nev. She graduated from Mendota High School in 1983 and was a graduate of Illinois Valley Community College. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was employed by Mendota High School with the support staff and was the junior class sponsor. She also was employed by Blackstone School on the custodial staff. She is survived by three daughters, Shelby, Hayley and Amy Devitt, all of Mendota; her parents, John and Betty Fassig of Mendota; one sister Paula (Nolan) Hallock of Tonica; one brother, Tim Fassig of Princeton; and her grandmother, Marjorie Fassig of Mendota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cash, on Nov. 19, 2009, and one sister, Amy Wyatt. Memorials may be directed to the family.
