Kenneth E. Ehlers, 78, of Mendota died Dec. 21, 2008, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Friday in the funeral home. Mr. Ehlers was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Mendota to Edgar and Marguerite (Deaner) Ehlers. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a 1947 graduate of Mendota High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by three nieces, Sue (Scott) Seng of Mendota, Kristine (Neil) Hochstatter of Earlville and Mary Jane Goslin of Sandwich. He was preceded in death by one brother. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Lutheran Home or St. John's Lutheran Church.
