Kurtis G. Shaver, 48, of Burlington, Okla., formerly of Triumph, died July 30, 2008, at his residence. A memorial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Del Tillman and Dennis Shaver officiating. Interment of ashes will be at Wisner Cemetery, Ophir Township. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Mr. Shaver was born Jan. 20, 1960, in Mendota. He worked in the farming and ranching industry most of his life. He is survived by two sons, Waylon (Christal) Shaver and Wesley (Emily) Shaver, both of Mendota; four grandchildren; his father, Gary Shaver of Triumph and Jackie Shaver of Troy Grove; one brother, Kevin (Lorelei) Shaver of LaMoille; one sister, Kimberly Scheppers of Troy Grove; three nephews; one niece; and the mother of his children, Dena Shaver. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
