Laurel A. Mitchell, 72, of Mendota, passed away November 26, 2021 in her home.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. There will be no service. Cremation rites will follow and private burial will be held at Dewey-Worsley Cemetery.

Laurel was born July 2, 1949 in Mendota to Everett "Sandy" and Ruth (Neff) Mitchell.

Laurel was a 1967 graduate of Mendota High School. She was a nurse at Mendota Community Hospital for eleven years, Mendota Lutheran Home and Heritage Health for thirteen years and also worked for Dr. Jared Rogers and Dr. David Scholl's office for five years. She was in the ladies bowling league at the Mendota Elks Club. She loved dogs and spending time visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her son Beau (Abby) Fancher of Mendota; grandson Landon Fancher; nephew Tim (Mel) Schultz; two nieces Terri (Jerry) Conner and Traci Piper; several great nieces and nephews; her caregiver Julie Hamel; the father of her son, Bill Fancher and her dog Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Linda Schultz and her brother in law Raymond Schultz.
