Ledford G. Davis, 69, of Mendota died Aug. 29, 2011, in Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Davis Cemetery, Davis Bend, Ky., with the Rev. Tom Patterson officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in Hopper Funeral Home, Barbourville, Ky. Mr. Davis was born April 10, 1942, in Artemus, Ky., to Herbert and Sara Marie (Miller) Davis. He worked as a mechanic at Del Monte Foods for 24 years before retiring. He is survived by one daughter, Kristy (Mike) Levar of Mendota; two sons, Kelly (Amy) Davis of Peoria and Korey Davis of Mendota; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward. Memorials may be directed to the family.
