Obituary
Lee Roy Dankenbring, 61, of rural Mendota, died Nov. 16, 2016 at Heritage Health, Mendota.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Merritt Funeral Home with Rev. Sandy Smith officiating. Burial will be at Wisner Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services.
Lee was born Aug. 21, 1955 in Mendota to Leroy W. and Mary (McNally) Dankenbring.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Dankenbring of Mendota; two brothers, Joe (Martha) Dankenbring of Mendota and Ron (Kim) Dankenbring of Streator; one sister, Connie (Bruce) Willis of Princeton; three nieces, Angela Dankenbring, Kristin Dankenbring and Emily Willis; and two nephews, Kenneth Dankenbring and Marshall Willis.
He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew, James Dankenbring.
Lee was a truck driver for Teamsters and helped local farmers in the field. He was a 1973 graduate of Mendota High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Mendota Moose Lodge.
Memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Hospice or the donor's choice.
