C. Lee Rodefer, 82, of Mendota died Jan. 9, 2011, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Tom McMurtry officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery, Dover. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born July 7, 1928, in Bloomfield, Iowa, to the Rev. Glenn and Opal (Dabney) Rodefer. He married Donna Butler in Streator. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a custodian and school bus driver for Northbrook Grade School and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife; one son, Ron (Joan) Rodefer of Franklin Grove; two daughters, Rhonda Rex of Rockford and Rae (Jim) Fredricks of St. Charles, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Rodefer of Hartsville, S.C., and Sam (Helen) Rodefer of Springfield; three sisters, Hope (Jim) Harmon of DePue, Faith (Billy) Carlson of Princeton and Charity (Ralph) Hill of Canton; one stepson, Rick (Cindy) Butler of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four stepdaughters, Jean (Joe) Apple of Kalispell, Mont., Rebecca (Tom) Treptow of Schaumburg, Carol (Bill) Carlton of Bend, Ore., and Barbara (Rafi) Segal of Chico, Calif. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one granddaughter. Memorials may be directed to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
