Leona G. Chambers, 85, of Mendota died March 15, 2011, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with pastor Betty Delgado officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. She was born March 6, 1926, in La Salle to William and Anna (Schallhorn) Lipka. She married Herbert Harris, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1972. She later married Donald Chambers on July 1, 1983; he died Sept. 17, 2009. She attended Trinity Church of Christ and was employed by Mendota Community Hospital in the housekeeping department. She is survived by three sons, Karl (Clara) Harris of Dixon, Brian (Deborah) Harris of Amboy and Roger Chambers of Mendota; one daughter, Sheryl (Doug) Setchell of Ashford, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
