Obituary
Lila Rose Stevens, 91, of Mendota passed away February 1, 2017 in OSF St. Paul Medical Center, Mendota.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00a.m., in the First Presbyterian Church, Mendota with Rev. Susan Presley officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Lila was born August 25, 1925 in Ottawa to Clarence and Beatrice (Capsel) Lambert. She married William Stevens September 5, 1959 in the First Presbyterian Church, Mendota.
She was a 1943 graduate of LP High School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer at Mendota Area Senior Services and Mendota Community Hospital in the gift shop. She worked for A&P Grocery Store and Sav-a-Lot Grocery Store. She worked in the Mendota High School cafeteria for 20 years before retiring.
She is survived by her two sons Gary (Deborah) Stevens of Mendota and Larry Stevens of Rochelle; three grandchildren Scott and Nick Stevens of Rochelle and Daniel Stevens of Cambridge, England.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be directed to Mendota Area Senior Services or American Heart Association.
