Obituary
Linda L. (Simpson) Joiner, 76 of LaSalle passed away October 18, 2019 in her home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Utica Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Troy Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota and one hour prior to services Tuesday in the church.
Linda was born June 26, 1943 in LaSalle to Russell and Marjorie (Scott) Crane. She married William "Bill" Simpson December 30, 1962. He preceded her on June 30, 2013. She married Tom Joiner May 4, 2019 in Utica.
Linda was a 1960 graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. She worked at Eureka Savings Bank in LaSalle for 41 years retiring as assistant Vice President of savings. She volunteered at Illinois Valley Community Hospital as a Red Coat. She was a member of Utica Baptist Church. She loved baking, gardening and traveling.
She is survived by her husband Tom of LaSalle; her daughter Paula (Mark Setchell) Roberts of DeKalb; her son Rick (Ronda) Simpson of LaSalle; two sisters Leila (Don) Croisant of LaSalle and Nancy Crane of Mendota; three grandchildren Lisa (Nick Sweeney) Wujek and Tyler Roberts both of LaSalle and Scott Simpson of Tonica; two stepchildren Alan (Patti) Joiner and Beth (Rob) Ingle; eight step grandchildren Seth Ingle, Ben Harris, Jacob Harris, Jessica Zellmer, Joshua Joiner, Ashlee Miller, Jeremy Cooper and Terry Austin Cooper and six step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
