Lois Ann Dinges, 90, formerly of Mendota passed away on August 15th at Sunrise Senior Living in Naperville, IL .

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30a.m., in Holy Cross Church with the Rev. Bo Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-10a.m., Tuesday, in the Merritt Funeral Home.

Lois was born July 5, 1924 in Sublette, Il. to Joseph and Ann (Yohn) Rave and raised in Meridan, IL. She married Clarence "Bud" Dinges in 1947. They lived in Mendota all their married life.

The couple had three children: Clarine (Bert) Spetzler of Roanoke, VA.; Steve (Linda) Dinges of Hannibal, MO.; and Geri (Henry) Halboth of Downers Grove, IL.; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Lois worked at the First State Bank of Mendota for many years. Lois and Bud owned and operated Dinges Oil Company for over 40 years. Lois served as bookkeeper, secretary and treasurer at Dinges Oil Company.

Lois was an avid golfer. She was a life- long member of Mendota Golf Club and ladies club champion. She was a long time member of Holy Cross Church and served on the Altar Society.

Lois's passion was the well-being of senior citizens. She helped found the Senior Citizens group in Mendota 40 years ago, and then she helped grow it into MASS (Mendota Area Senior Services).

Lois was very involved in other community activities including, the hospital auxiliary, The Heart Association and the golf auxiliary.

Lois lived in Colorado for four years in a Sunrise Assisted Living and moved to Naperville three years ago following her daughter, Geri

Lois was preceded in death her husband Bud who died April 30, 2006.

Lois will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
