Lois C. Emmert, 90, of Spring Valley, formerly of Mendota, died Jan. 13, 2010, in Peru. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Grace United Methodist Church, La Salle, with the Rev. Jennifer Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Fairlane Township Cemetery, Chadwick. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church. Arrangements were provided by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Chadwick to Emil and Elsie (Nelson) Hartman. She married Paul Emmert on Dec. 3, 1949, in Mount Carroll. She and her husband owned and operated Bowl Air Lanes in Mendota from 1964- 1982. Survivors are three daughters, Judy (Dennis) Shaver of Spring Valley, Sharon Barlow of Phoenix, Ariz., and Sandra (Richard) Brenner of Arkansas; one son, Randall (Dawn) Emmert of Indianapolis, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 21, 2008; one daughter, Paulette; and three brothers. Memorials may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church.
