Lois Margaret (Fitzgerald) McConville, 86 of 645 N. 36th Road, Utica passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on April 17, 2015.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Peterstown with the Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
She was born May 13, 1928, in Sublette to Frank and Luella (Dewey) Fitzgerald. She married the love of her life, Leo P. McConville, on wash day, Monday, May 26, 1952. She worked at Westclox in Peru, Marathon Electric in Earlville and assisted Leo as secretary for the Waltham Utica and Ophir Mutual Insurance Co.
She lived her whole life in Section 31 Ophir Township. She always said when the car was going out the drive she wanted to be in it. She loved going anywhere there was dancing and on a sunny day being on the golf course. But most of all she just wanted to be with her family.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Dimmick and most recently, Sts. Peter and Paul in Peterstown.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Harlan) Fisher of Mendota, JoAnn McConville of Mendota, Tom (Jan) McConville of Amboy and Frank (Gail) McConville of Mendota; six grandchildren, Rachel (Mike) White of Bloomingdale, Mitch (Megan) McConville of Ohio, Ill., Maggie McConville of Amboy, Amanda Cunefare, Troy Cunefare, Nick McConville, Tyler Nyman, and great-granddaughter Hayden, all of Mendota; her sister Lorraine (Robert) Black of Dimmick, and her longtime companion Anthony Gibbons of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three sisters, Phyllis (Wilmer) Hochstatter, Arlene (Marshall) Stielow, and Kathrine (Wilfred) Stevenson.
