Lyle A. Wendel,
86, of Mendota died
Dec. 29, 2014, in
Asta Care Center of Toluca surrounded by his family.
There will be no services.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Burial will be private
at a later date.
Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota
provided the arrangements.
Lyle was born March 23,
1928, in Sublette to Henry
and Gunda (Rebhan) Wendel.
He married Catherine Carol
Hill on Jan. 23, 1959, in Ottawa.
He was a lifelong farmer
in the Mendota area. He
worked for Hughes Oil and
also Schwerman Trucking.
He served in the U.S. Coast
Guard 1952-1955. He was a
1946 graduate of Mendota
High School.
He is survived by his wife,
of Mendota; one daughter,
Tamra Bierbom of Utica;
three grandchildren Kendra Bierbom of Princeton, Kelsey Bokus and Cole Bokus both of Utica; one sister
Evelyn (Robert) Wilson of Orlando,
Fla.; and one brother,
Lee (Carol) Wendel of Mendota.
He was preceded in death
by his parents.
