Mable K. Gleim, 96, of Mendota passed away November 1, 2015 in Mendota Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00a.m., in Zion United Methodist Church, Mendota with Rev. Hogun Kim officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30a.m. til 11:00a.m., in the church. Merritt Funeral Home handled arrangements. Mable was born March 19, 1919 in Mendota to Ezra and Luella (Rapp) Beetz. She married Dale Gleim on March 31, 1945 in Mendota. Mable graduated from Mendota High School and then received a B.S. in education from North Central College in Naperville, IL. Mrs. Gleim was a teacher in Sublette, IL and was a homemaker. Mable was a volunteer at Mendota Community Hospital for many years. She was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church in Mendota, Mendota Woman's Club, numerous Book Clubs and several other civic organizations. She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, caring for her cats, and loved attending church. She is survived by one son Edward (Jean) Gleim of Mendota and Patsy (William) Oakshott of Mendota; 5 grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Frey, Brad
(Mackenzie) Gerth, Mark (Leeanne) Gleim, Eric (Cassy) Gleim, Elizabeth (Brock) Zinke; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, her brother Howard Beetz, sister Mildred Beetz and great grandson, Maverick Gerth. Memorials may be directed to Zion United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Eric Gleim, Mark Gleim, Andrew Frey, Brad Gerth, Joe Beetz and John Werner.
