Obituary
Manford W. Sheridan, 93, of Peru, formerly of Mendota, passed away September 9, 2017 in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Private burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9-11 a.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Manford was born July 1, 1924 in Moundville, MO. to Pat and Stella (Worsley) Sheridan. He married Rose Mary Fitzgerald, April 14, 1945 in St. Mary's Church, Utica.
Manford was a farmer for 68 years in the Triumph area. He was a lifetime member of Mendota Elks Lodge. He was an avid reader and enjoyed telling stories and working on his computer.
He is survived by two daughters Bonnie (Lynn) Brewbaker of St. Louis, MO., and Debbie Sheridan of Spring Valley; son Bob (Kathi) Sheridan Mendota; two grandsons Scott (Heidi) Sheridan of Elgin and Kevin (Jean) Sheridan of Mendota; three great grandchildren Thomas, Nicholas, and Clara Sheridan.
He was preceded by his wife on December 21, 1998 and two sisters Deloris Heitz and Patty Gedymin.
Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross School or Mendota Area Senior Services.
