Margaret E. Streicher, 96, of Troy Grove died April 4, 2011, in her residence. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating. Burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. She was born June 21, 1914, in Troy Grove to Louis and Maria (Olson) Hanson. She married Carl Streicher who died in February 1971. She then married Cecil Streicher; he died in November 2002. She graduated from Mendota High School and was a former member of Troy Grove Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Conco Inc. in Mendota and Manley Bros. in Troy Grove. She was an avid gardener who also loved fishing. She stayed current and enjoyed political news. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Michael) Skowera of Granville; one son, David Streicher of Troy Grove; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Philip (Patricia) Hanson of Troy Grove. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Gail, three sisters and three brothers. Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
