Margaret L. Thompson, 89, of 701 Meadowview Drive, Mendota died May 2, 2011, in Mendota Community Hospital. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Gary Blake officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Emden to Harry and Margie (Hartman) Harold. She was a member of Holy Cross Church. She worked at Marathon Electric in Earlville for more than 20 years. She is survived by three daughters, JoAnn Atwell of Peace Valley, Mo., Dianne (James) Trammell of Golconda and Susanne Joerger of Monroe, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, LuAnn Hughes; two brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Area Senior Services or Masses.
