Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23 at Holy Cross Church with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Marian was born July 24, 1926 in Sublette to Ralph and Frances (Full) Maloy. She married Benton L. Brown on Jan. 3, 1948 at Holy Cross Church, Mendota. He preceded her in death in 2013

Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Alan) Urso of Earlville; two grandchildren, Daniel (Susan) Bohn of Rockton and Amy Bohn of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandsons, Adam and Casey Bohn; and one brother, Rev. Dale R. Maloy of Mendota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Marjorie, in infancy.

Marian was a life long resident of Mendota. She attended Holy Cross Grade School and Mendota High School, graduating in the class of 1944. Prior to the birth of her daughter, she worked in the offices of several local businesses. In later years, she joined her husband at Fred Brown and Sons as bookkeeper for the business. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and Mendota Community Hospital Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and grandmother, enjoying sports and social activities at Holy Cross Grade School and Mendota High School.
