Marian A. Hoffman, 85, of Peru died Aug. 8, 2016, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Peru.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Peru, with the Rev. Tim Kenyon officiating. Burial will be at Clarion Lutheran Cemetery, Clarion Township.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Marian was born April 19, 1931, in LaMoille to Edward and Esther (Gross) Goetz. She was baptized, confirmed and raised in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Clarion, where she served as secretary of Luther League and served on the building committee. She later became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Peru, where she was a volunteer with the salad bar committee, funeral dinners, a greeter, OWLS, the visitation committee and five years with PADS.

She was employed for eight years by National Food Stores, the pancake house at Holiday Inn, for 34 years at Red Door Inn, and at Grand Bear Lodge before her retirement. She enjoyed being a waitress and meeting new people from across the United States. She was very active in the Republican Party where she volunteered with parades and party functions.

She was a graduate of LaMoille High School.

Marian is survived by one brother, Myron (Marilyn) Goetz of LaMoille; and two nieces, Sarah and Susan Goetz, both of LaMoille.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
