Marie Johnson, 90, a resident of Mendota Lutheran Home, died Dec. 6, 2007, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton, with the Rev. Paul Darveau officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Angier Hospital in Sublette as a ?Twilight Baby? to Arthur and Alvina (Kromm) Foulk. She married Ray Johnson on Oct. 20, 1945. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton and past president of WELCA, former board member of Mendota Lutheran Home, past president of VFW Auxiliary and founding member of Mendota Hospital Auxiliary. She worked as a riveter at Conco Inc. in Mendota during World War II. Survivors include one son, Joel (Jean) Johnson of Compton; two daughters, Julia (Jim) Wade of Mendota and Jill (Steve) McNeill of Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and one brother, Franklin (Mary Lou) Foulk of Mendota. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 27, 1977, two sisters and one brother. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton or donor?s choice.
