Marieda Jo Haas Lind, 68, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 14, 2016, in St. Andrew's Village, Aurora, Colo.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Van Orin Gospel Church, with burial following at Van Orin Repose Cemetery. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided the arrangements.

Marieda was born March 10, 1947, in Princeton to Wilbur and Marguerite (Johnson) Haas. Jo grew up on the farm in Van Orin, later moving to DeKalb.

She met Steven Lind during high school and they married after college in 1968. It was a grand adventure, as they had a daughter and a son and moved multiple times during Steve's career in the U.S. Air Force, finally settling in Aurora, Colo. No matter where they lived, Jo found ways to minister through music, playing the organ and piano, directing choir and singing. She also served in quiet ways through encouragement to others wherever she went. Jo was a stay-at-home mom during her children's early years but also had a successful career working in credit unions. Jo's hobbies included reading and crocheting afghans.

Jo is survived by her husband, Steve; her daughter, Julie; her son, Jeffrey; and four grandchildren, Corren, Marcail, Kaleb and Luke.
