Marilyn Kay (Masters) Chaon, 80 , passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Normal, Il.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Susan Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.

Marilyn was the daughter of Robert and Elma (Lang) Masters. Marilyn has one brother, Robert "Bob" Masters. She was married to Robert "Bob" Chaon who preceded her in death. They had four children, Jeff Chaon, Byron Chaon, who preceded her in death, and his wife Paula, Cindy (Tom) Miller, and Mike (Kim) Chaon . She has nine grandchildren, Mike, Ricky, Tim, Morgan, Genevieve, Blaze, Mitch, EJ, and Jimmy.

Marilyn loved her family, reading, nurturing flowers/plants/animals, socializing, and her Chicago Cubbies. She had always had a passion for horses. When she was a little girl she followed the horse-drawn milk wagon around her neighborhood just so she could spend time with the horse. In 1990 her husband, Bob, bought her a horse of her own for her birthday. Shifty-lue was her name. Marilyn loved that horse and all it represented. Unfortunately for Marilyn, Shifty-lue love d Bob. Marilyn only rode her once. With her green thumb and love for gardening, she could make just about anything grow a nd flourish. She is now at peace.
