Marilyn J. Henkel, 74 of West Brooklyn passed away December 10, 2018 in her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, West Brooklyn with Father Randy Fronek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Brooklyn. Visitation will be Friday from 4- 7 p.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with a 3:15 p.m. Rosary and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church.
Marilyn was born on September 13, 1944 in Sublette the daughter of Charles and Cecelia (Sondgeroth) Myers. Marilyn was united in marriage on October 29, 1960 to Raymond J. Henkel in West Brooklyn and spent the next 58 happy years together.
Marilyn loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, singing in the church choir and preparing a hearty meal for family and friends. She was a devoted and active farmer's wife. She was a leader for the local youth 4H club and was always very active supporting her local church and family needs.
She is survived by her husband Raymond of West Brooklyn; her children Lori (Ron) Schiff of Dewey, Linda Henkel of Naperville and Craig Henkel of West Brooklyn; grandchildren Zachary (Caroline) Schiff, Rachel (Francois-Marie) Schiff Lhuissier, Joshua (Terrisa Nevin) Schiff, Jordan Henkel and Gina Henkel; great grandchildren Ella, Drew, and Clara Schiff; sister Barb Walzer; sister-in-law Arlene Schmitt, brother-in-law Bill (Nancy) Henkel and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents and three brothers Roger, Clement, and Roland.
Memorials may be directed to the family for memorials to be established in Marilyn's name.
