Marilyn M. Neff, 90, of Mendota, passed away, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Allure of Mendota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Father Peter Pilon officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Marilyn was born August 27, 1933 in Mendota to Gilbert and Dorothy (Frank) Spanier. She married Warren Neff in 1969 in Mendota.

She attended Holy Cross Grade School and Mendota High School. Marilyn started her nurses training at St. Anthony De Padua in Chicago in 1954. During her nursing career she worked at the V.A. Hospital in Chicago, Manhattan Island New York V.A. Hospital, Brooklyn New York V.A. Hospital and the V.A. Hospital in Iowa City. Marilyn was a firm believer in praying the Rosary. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling and reading. Warren and Marilyn enjoyed camping in upper Michigan watching the ships go through the Soo Locks. They also were avid bird watchers.

Marilyn is survived by her two brothers Robert (Pam) Spanier and Joseph (Diane) Spanier, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren in 2008, her parents Gilbert and Dorothy, her sister Bernice  in 2023, two brothers James and John and sister-in-law Joyce Spanier.
