Marilynn J. Setchell, 62, of Sublette died March 25, 2009, in Mendota Community Hospital. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Presbyterian Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Dykstra officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born July 13, 1946, in La Salle to Lawrence and Marion (Christopherson) Klinefelter. She married David Setchell on June 13, 1970, in Waltham Presbyterian Church. She was a member and volunteer at First Presbyterian Church and operated Setchell Auctioneering with her husband. She received a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and taught English at Amboy High School. She was on the Amboy Community School District 272 board of education. She volunteered with Mendota Area Foods Resource Bank. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Rebecca (Jayson) Stamberger of LaMoille and Laura (Steven) Fischer of Sublette; two grandchildren; one brother, Skip (Joan) Klinefelter of Utica; and two sisters, Joan (Jack) Kulpa of Utica and Bonnie Klinefelter of New York, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to her church or Sublette Fire Department.
