Marion Judith Schwaar,
79, a resident of Woodhaven
Lakes, died Dec. 17, 2012, in
Heritage Health, Mendota.
A memorial service will
be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Faith
Bible Fellowship Church,
Troy Grove, with the Rev.
Bill Ultch officiating. Burial
will be private.
Visitation is one hour
prior to services Saturday at
the church. Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota provided the
arrangements.
She was born Aug. 24,
1933, in Chicago to Cecil and
Myrtle (Schuster) Smithson.
She married Eugene Schwaar
on Dec. 4, 1954, in Honolulu,
Hawaii.
She graduated from
Evangelical Hospital School
of Nursing in Chicago in 1954
and worked for 21 years as an
emergency room nurse and
12 years in the nursery at St.
Francis Hospital, Blue Island.
She continued her nursing
career after retirement by
working briefly at Heritage
Manor Nursing Home in
Mendota.
She is survived by her husband,
Eugene of Woodhaven
Lakes; two daughters, Lorna
Gene (Bill) Soderberg of
Alexandria, Va., and Nanette
Sue (Joe) Eckley of Geneva;
one son, Timothy James
(Ann) Schwaar of Mundelein;
and grandchildren, Megan
Soderberg, Kelly (Erik)
Gabriel, Lauren Schwaar,
Kimberly Schwaar, Theresa
Schwaar, Ryan Schwaar,
Chris Schwaar, Jason Eckley,
Michelle Eckley and Andrew
Eckley.
