Marjorie Edith (Fahler) Etheridge, 83, of Harvard, formerly of Mendota, died May 12, 2009, in her residence. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded; private interment will be at a later date. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. She was born June 16, 1925, in Mendota to Forrest and Edith Fahler. She married Dr. C. Laurence "Larry" Etheridge on Sept. 11, 1948. She was a graduate of MacMurray College and Evanston Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mendota. She is survived by five sons, David (Cathy) Etheridge of Woodstock, Steven (Sally) Etheridge of Stillman Valley, John Etheridge of Harvard, Mark (Ginny) Etheridge of Park City, Utah, and Kevin (Kelly) Etheridge of Eagan, Minn.; one daughter, Laurel (Charlie) Doherty of Northfield; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in August 2000; and one brother. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
