Obituary

Marjorie A. Fassig, 100,
of Mendota died July 29,
2014, in Mendota Lutheran
Home. Funeral services
will be at 11 a.m. Friday in
St. John's Lutheran Church
with the Rev. Dale Peterson
officiating. will officiate the
service. Burial will be at
Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be 9:30
a.m. until time of service
Friday at the church.

are by Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota.
She was born March 31,
1914, in Mendota to Henry
Wm. and Sadie (Arndt)
Bieser. She married Millton
Fassig on Oct. 4, 1934, in
Mendota. She was a member
of St. John's Lutheran
Church, Mendota.
She loved quilting, playing
cards and helping with
Project Days at St. John's
Lutheran Church and also
was an avid Cub's fan.
She is survived by four
sons, Duane Fassig, John
(Betty) Fassig and Norman
(Joyce) Fassig, all of
Mendota and Lyn (Lynn)
Fassig of Garland, Texas;
11 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren;
and two
sisters, Vera Schlesinger and
Helen Sondgeroth, both of
Mendota.
She was preceded in
death by her husband on
Feb. 20, 2004; two granddaughters,
Amy Wyatt and
Kathy Devitt; five brothers
and two sisters.
Memorials may be directed
to Mendota Lutheran
Home or St. John's Lutheran
Church.
