Marjorie A. Hedgspeth, 85, of Mendota died Jan. 29, 2018, in Mendota Lutheran Home.

Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with the Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Marjorie was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Mendota to Adolph and Emma (Kratz) Goubeaux. She married Cecil Hedgspeth on April 30, 1955, in Holy Cross Church.

She graduated from Mendota High School in 1950 and received her registered nursing degree from St. Charles School of Nursing, Aurora. She was employed by Mendota Community Hospital for 44 years in the OB Department and retired in 1998.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Sally Hedgspeth and Helen (Dan) Lemmer, both of Mendota, and Robin Hedgspeth of Peru; one son, Willliam (Kathy) Hedgspeth of Port Byron; one granddaughter, Kari; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rita (Ron) Lilja of Mendota, Donna McKee of St. Paul, Minn. and Mary Jane Hilt of DeKalb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers.
