Obituary

Marjorie J. Hoelzer, 83, of Paw Paw died Oct. 1, 2009, in her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Compton. The Rev. Dale Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hoelzer was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Aurora to Ralph and Idella (Haag) Bowers. She married Orville Sandvik on Sept. 7, 1946. He died in 1983. She then married Stanley Hoelzer on March 12, 1988. She was a dispatcher for Mendota Police Department for 11 years. She was active with Tri-County Fair Association for more than 10 years and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Survivors are her husband; one daughter, Jean (Robert) Ritzheimer of Tunas, Mo.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepchildren and six stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband. Memorials may be directed to Immauel Lutheran Church and Neighbors In Christ Ecumenical in Lee.
