Marlene Jane Kent, 72, of Mendota, passed away peacefully in her home on July 6, 2024.

She was born Marlene Jane Skaggs on November 2, 1951 in Pekin, the daughter of Ralph Skaggs and Elaine Schmutz.

Marlene was passionate about fishing, hunting, and camping with her husband Rick throughout the Illinois area and abroad. She was a hard worker and enjoyed the simple things in life like watching crime shows, tending to her garden, and collecting angel figurines. She cherished her time with her dogs, friends and family.

She is survived by her husband Ricky Kent of Mendota, her 3 sons, Jamey, Jason and Jeremy Shofner, 2 stepchildren Teri Williams and Keith Kent, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday July 14, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. at THE CLIFF EVENT CENTER, 1105 East Peru St, Princeton, Il.
