Marvin W. Heiman, 83, of Mendota died June 3, 2010, in St. Anthony's Hospital, Rockford. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Compton, with the Rev. Jamie Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. He was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Compton to Walter and Mabel (Caruth) Heiman. He married Delores Morsch onAug. 27, 1950. He was a 1944 graduate of Mendota High School. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a lifelong farmer in Brooklyn Township. He was a private pilot for 35 years and had an advertising business for 36 years. His hobbies included trap shooting and hunting. He collected antique tractors. He is survived by his wife; one son, Mark (Erin) Heiman of Mendota; three daughters, LuAnne Cassens of Panama City, Fla., Sherri Heiman of Mendota and Bonnie Lyman of Normal; two grandchildren, Tony Schaefer of Champaign and Jennifer Schaefer of Mendota; and one sister, Jerrene Gray of Peru. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Mendota Area Senior Services.
