Mary Kay Evans, 79, of Mendota, passed away September 30, 2021 in her home.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at noon at Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille with Rev. Larry Sheaves officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
Mary was born July 4, 1942 in Mendota to Ralph and Mary Jane (Hampton) Swope. She married Earl Eugene Evans on August 9, 2016.
Mary was a devout Christian. She worked for Glacier National Park for 15 years cleaning hotels with friends and family. She enjoyed listening to music and learning new things from reading. She loved to cook and her specialties were baked beans, apple crisp and potato salad. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by son Timothy Eugene Evans of Coram, MT.; 6 daughters Kimberly (Scott Tallent) Chapman of Mendota, Denise (Edward) Culver of House Springs, MO., Wanda Winters of Kevin, MT., Candy (Greg Chandler) Evans of Coram, MT., Tora (Tony) Powell of Hungry Horse, MT., and Lavina Evans of Coram, MT.; brother Larry Swope of Mendota; 2 sisters Linda Brumley of Mendota and Janet Hough of Sun City, AZ. and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2018, two sons Terry Chapman and Jeffrey Chapman, daughter Tona Evans, sister Barbara O'Connor and two brothers James Swope and Donald Swope.
