Mary G. Filip, 85, of Arlington died December 29, 2016 in OSF St. Paul Medical Center, Mendota. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Charles Yeakel officiating. Mary was born January 24, 1931 in Aurora to George and Mary (Shropshire) Filip. She was a graduate of West Aurora High School in 1948. She was employed by Lyon Metal Products, Aurora from 1948-1955. She later worked at the Squeeze Box Sandwich Shop in Aurora and was employed by AT & T from 1964-1986 prior to her retirement. She enjoying gardening and collecting dolls. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church, Mendota. She is survived by one son, Darrell Sellers of LaMoille; one granddaughter, Heather (Clint) Stockwell; three great-grandchildren, Haley, Evan, and Jasper; one brother, James (Carol) Filip of Torrance, CA; a niece, Marla Pierson of Arlington; two great nieces, Donna and Maddie. She was preceded by her parents, a sister, Donna Mont, a brother, George Filip, and a nephew, Sheldon.
